SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

Kenosha EPC is seeking a senior process engineer for midstream oil and gas, renewable and industrial projects.  The engineer will be responsible for completing and leading process engineering tasks and projects as part of a collaborative team environment. Much of the project work will be done in an office enviroment with occasional requirement to travel for site walkdowns or meetings. This position may require overtime including evenings and weekends when required to meet client schedule. 

Typical Responsibilities  

  • Lead process engineering tasks and coordinate project deliverables with multiple disciplines. 
  • Manage and delegate tasks to other process engineers as well as mentor and provide professional guidance.
  • Develop process engineering budgets, and coordinate with project management and controls to define the schedule and task durations.  Ensure the project deliverables are completed accurately and efficiently within the budget and schedules, and proactively communicate and identify any changes to budget or schedule.
  • Develop process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Develop heat and material balance information using various commercial software.
  • Perform hydraulic analysis and calculations for piping systems.
  • Perform process studies and develop design basis documents.
  • Define process conditions of service to support procuring equipment and instruments.
  • Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Design pressure relief systems including flare header design, relief valve sizing calculations, and relief scenario analysis.
  • Complete sizing and rating of various equipment like pumps, horizontal and vertical vessels, shell and tube heat ex-changers, and air coolers.
  • Develop control philosophies and cause and effect diagrams.
  • Participate in PHAs, model reviews and client design reviews.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer preferred or willing to become licensed. 
  • 7 years plus of experience, preferably in upstream and midstream oil and gas, renewable energy and energy transition industries
  • Proficiency with simulation software such as BR&E Promax, Aspentech HYSYS or others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of iPRSM is beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of standardy industry practices including API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, TEMA.

JUNIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

Kenosha EPC is seeking a junior process engineer for midstream oil and gas, renewable and industrial projects.  The engineer will be responsible for completing process engineering tasks as part of a collaborative team environment. Much of the project work will be done in an office enviroment with occasional requirement to travel for site walkdowns or meetings. This position may require overtime including evenings and weekends when required to meet client schedule.

  • Assist with defining process conditions of service to support procuring equipment and instruments.

LEAD PIPING DESIGNER

Kenosha EPC is seeking a lead piping designer for a variety of projects including midstream oil and gas, manufacturing, and renewables.  The lead piping designer will oversee layout and design, assign tasks to junior and mid-level designers, and check design work, as well as doing 3-D modeling on projects as needed.  Our relationships are our key to success and this role is very client-facing, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable in meetings with project stakeholders as well as with the team.

Typical Responsibilities  

  • Lead piping design efforts on large projects (or multiple smaller projects) and coordinate with project manager and other disciplines
  • Manage and delegate design work to other designers, as well as reviewing designs and giving guidance
  • Conduct site visits as required to coordinate laser scans and/or obtain field measurements
  • Develop overall facility layouts and conceptual designs
  • 3-D model to 30%/60% level, guide design in detail design to accomplish client goals
  • Conduct 3-D model reviews and other interaction with client as needed
  • Check the work of other designers, as well as checking all construction drawings

Requirements  

  • 10+ years of layout/design experience, preferably in midstream, renewable, and/or manufacturing facilities
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Cadworx, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.  Revit experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of all applicable design standards, API, ASME, ANSI.

Mid-Level Piping Designer

Kenosha EPC is seeking a junior- to mid-level piping designer for a variety of projects including midstream oil and gas, manufacturing, and renewables.  The mid-level piping designer will be responsible for developing construction-ready 3-D models, as well as preparing all of the construction drawings necessary for the project.  Designer will have oversight from an area or project design lead, but will be expected to be able to carry out tasks on a day-to-day basis with general guidance.  Designer may also be responsible for 3-D modeling for other disciplines such as structural and electrical.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Produce complete PFDs and P&IDs from verbal or written description from the process and piping leads
  • Develop 3-D models from P&IDs with input from piping lead as well as client comments
  • 3-D model mechanical equipment, necessary structural components, and cable trays as needed with guidance from lead and other disciplines
  • Execute changes to designs from sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects
  • Verify design in laser scan as needed
  • Produce construction drawings as required based on projects needs
  • Interact with lead/checker to update designs as needed

Requirements

  • 4+ years of 3-D piping design experience
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Cadworx.  Revit experience is a plus.
  • Will need to use Navisworks and Bluebeam, but these can be trained on job if needed.
